A different kind
of beef company.

This is not your same

old beef plant.

We’re an earnest, forward-looking partnership of ranchers, feeders, processors and retailers utilizing a business model unlike
any in the industry, with
a focus on cooperating across the supply chain
to efficiently produce
the best beef in the U.S.

We’ve built a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced facility
in North Platte, Nebraska, with the safety and comfort of our team members in mind: larger work stations, no overhead belts, fully adjustable platforms
and all-local, hands-on leadership.

But we’re different in other meaningful ways, too. We look at this industry
through a whole new lens.

What Sets Us Apart

Quality.

We’re producing genetic Angus Beef.

Cattle are sourced from no more than a 250-mile radius to the plant in a region that has exceptionally high-quality cattle.

Sourcing.

Ownership.

The majority of the ownership in this business is local and producer-centric.

We’re a single-shift operation with reasonable start and end times to truly allow for work-life balance and operational excellence.

Valuing Team Members.

Sustainable Beef is the newest plant in North America, and as such, we’ve engineered Employee Safety, Food Safety and Animal Welfare into the design.

Advanced Design.

The new Sustainable Beef plant is the latest of several plants that Schmeeckle Brothers has built in the beef industry. Schmeeckle specializes in beef harvest and fabrication facilities and critiques every build such that the next one will be their best design and build to date. Sustainable Beef was able to combine Schmeeckle’s expertise with the long career expertise of several meat industry veterans to enable our state-of-the art design.

Efficiency.

Eight Points We Believe

  • Safety Is the Entry Fee.

We absolutely will NOT compromise team member safety, food safety or humane handling.

  • Nobody Should Have to Work for a Jerk.

Good behaviors are equally as important as good results.

  • If 'Better' is Possible, then 'Good' is Not Enough.

What gets measured improves, so measurement will be used as a tool, not a weapon.

  • Each Team Member Should Understand What's Expected of Them

Each team member will understand how they fit and why they matter to our organization.

  • There Is No 'I' in 'Team'.

In success we look out the window; in failure, we look in the mirror. If it involves you, own it.

  • Learning Occurs by Communicating a message 7 times in 7 different ways.

Not everyone comes to knowledge and understanding in the same way.

  • This is a Simple Business. You Choose to Make It Difficult.

It takes people, resources, mechanical integrity and leadership to be successful.

  • Doing the Right Thing Isn't Always Easy, But It's Always Right.

    It’s as simple as that.
